Runflats and tire pressures question !

Hi , my bro has a E92 328i and the other day the tire alert came on , one of the tires read 24psi so he filled all of em with 36psi . My question is : if something is wrong with the tire the warning light would remain on right ? so he has nuthin 2 worry about or should he check the tires ?

you should just check it out to be safe...or you never know, a stone or something might have hit the TPM sensor...either way, get it checked to be safe.

1st. The system is working like it should if the it alerted you and one of the tires is at 24 PSI.

2d. Any time you fill a tire with air (even if it's slight to counter ambient temperature changes, you have to reset the TPM system. See the owner's manual.

3d. The pressure for your tires depends on what tire is installed, if you have the sports package, and for those German drivers, how much and if you ever exceed 100 MPH. The chart is near the back of, you guessed it, your owner's manual.

Finally, the TPM sensor is mounted to the inside of the wheel, so I doubt a stone hit it. Pull the wheel off and inspect it. You probably have a nail or screw stuck in it.

Cheers!

air pressure

Check the sticker on the door jam of the drivers door. The 328 I think takes 35 front and 41 rear for pressure. There is also a software upgrade for the TPMS that your service center can complete for you.
