Winter setup without Run Flat nor Tire Pressure Monitor

What are the issues with having a set of winter wheels and tires that are not run flat and don't have TPMS? Is a tire repair aerosol can enough or do you need to strap a spare in the trunk? Will the tire pressure warning light be on all the time and need to be reset when you go back to TPMS on the summer wheels/tires? Thanks.

Being that the sensors are only $49 each now it may not be worth having to deal with the dash light and audible warnings. I don't have more specifics, sorry.

So, $200 extra and they go in the valve stems? Could a person move the valave stemms from the summer to winter wheels for winter? Thanks!

In order to transfer sensors over the tires must be dismounted. The cost of doing this twice each year would likely exceed the cost of new sensors in less than two seasons.

That really sucks because I have the performance package and had to get 18's to get the sport seats but I already have 19's ready so im going to need another set of 17's with winters. Or can I run 18's with winter tires and be ok?

Could you answer my question on the same subject, The E90 could NOT run with wheels without pressure sensors installed. The warning light would go on at all time?
Wanted to install wheels from a E46 with winter tire installed. Saving a lot of $$$$.

Regards
Denis

I would think there would be a way to turn the tire pressure monitoring system off. I bet if you went into your dealer they could hook the car up to a computer and turn it off. I'm no expert though, so my answer is just a guess.

Given the liability of such action I highly doubt this is possible.
