Does anyone know if there's a "doughnut" tire that's been developed or is useable for either the 328i or the 328xi? At this point, I'm holding off purchasing a new BMW because of the runflats and the poor tire life I see repeatedly reported. I know it's a sports car and I know they're meant to be driven; I'm approaching 24k miles on my Michlin tires on my 05 330ci. I can afford the car,but I put about 30k a year on my cars and over 3k a year on tires is just nuts. I'd be willing to allocate a portion of my trunk to a donut and purchase conventional tires when the runflats wear out.
Any input would be appreciated.
