My engine shut off while driving!!

Last night I was driving down the rd about 45mph when I felt a jar and all of the sudden the engine shuts off! The lights are on while I'm still rolling..lucky I was able to coast to the next side street and pull over. I was thankful I was not on the expressway...but I'm really upset. I literally just bought my 2008 328i 2 days ago!! I called the dealership and they picked it up this morning. I love the car but I feel like this is a really omen. Any ideas on what's going on guys?

On a side note the "service engine soon" light came in after the incident.

Maybe the recalled battery cable?

Recall is correct.

+1. Call the dealer with your VIN and if subject to the recall, get it in there ASAP.
