E90 rpm jerking and engine literally vibrates
Hey Guys,
Im new here..i have a problem on my 2007 323i e90.i dont quite actually know how to explain it exactly so i took a video of it... - in this video, while i was driving, with a constant speed, the rpm drops a little (as you can see in the vid) and back to normal..this happens randomly...and sometimes i happen for a long time during the ride and sometime it happens for a short time.when this happens i usually let go of the gas pedal n press it again as usual...also when the rpm drops...the engine literally shakes/vibrates...you can also see this in the video.when this happens, you can hear a metal shaking or vibrating from the outside... - For this video...my e90 was on parking...suddenly the rpm..playing around? its like your playing with the gas pedal...n the car shakes a little bit when this happens...as you can see in this video..this does not happen all the time...sometimes when im about put it into Drive or Reverse....usually this happens for about few seconds...and when this happens,i usually puts it into N.... Please help me guys,i just got this car this year...when i test drive it..it was not there...then,after awhile...it happens till now...i love this car...but with all this happening...im afraid to drive it...afraid that this problem might damage the car even more.. i went to the workshop to check/repair it...unfortunately..their diagnose didnt find any faulty on the spark plug and ignition coil... for the bmw agent....i need to register the car there first before they touch it as my car is an import car...n for the register alone is BND1000 which is equivalent to USD 820.and from what i heard..their service is more like...cost alot, less quality......soo,the agent is not an option for me. that's that..please help me _a_

I've experienced exactly the same symptoms on a completely different car (ford) and it was the crank position sensor. I may be completely off the mark as it was a totally different beast, but worth thinking about.

Sound like a bad coil pack (s). If you have access to a code reader see what codes are being thrown.

Just had a similar issue with my 2006 325i. Replaced a ignition coil and all the plugs and resolved the issue.
