Manual airco to auto airco

As the title says, is it possible to retrofit auto airco? Is it just the question of replacing the front controlpanel or is there more involved ?

Do you have the manual controls now? Not sure what you are asking.

Yes, I have a manual aircon now. Means no auto function, no temp display, etc...maybe this is not even offered in the US. I just have 3 knops and 3 buttons. And I wonder if I can just swap the control panel...my guts tell me there is more involved, but I can only hope

Cars never get simpler or easier to fix or less expensive to maintain.

In the E46, gGoing from manual AC to automatic AC takes more than swapping out of the heating/ventilation/air conditioning box in the dash. You can bet that trying to do the same in an E9X is even more complicated and expensive. Sorry.

I certainly understand that engines have "optimum" operating temps (most seem to in the low 200s, while my CaymanS runs at 175 all day, with 250 being in the red), but do not grasp that "higher" temps such as pushing 300 degrees is necessarily more efficient....... Higher heat is obiously harder on the engine components themselves, so I'd greatly appriecate your insight on the physics of this. Thanks!
