BMW DTM Testing on Hungaroring

DTM racing, or German Touring Car racing is something equivalent to NASCAR in the US but with all race tracks have both left and right hand turns. The track are demanding and the cars are built by each manufacturer so there battles on the track and engineering battles in the garages.

BMW best know DTM racing was done with the epic E30 M3 twenty years ago. With their exit from F1 there is now motorsport money to be spent and DTM racing is one of the places it is going. Their latest DTM racer is based on the E92 and looks out of this world. The already wide fender flairs are shunned in favor of massively wide, vented flairs, huge rear wing and a flat black paint scheme that is a little bat mobile like.

To get the DTM car in shape BMW headed to the Hungaroring for some testing. The test car sports the swirly camo paint so to get a good look at the car without the swirls check out the press launch link above. The results according to the drivers are excellent so Audi, MB and others better look out!
