RaceCapture & Podium: effortless social sharing of your race data and videos

After three years of building and selling RaceCapture/Pro, a real-time telemetry system at a breakthrough price, the team at Autosport Labs is launching a new system on Kickstarter: RaceCapture, a plug & play high performance data streaming device with a slick mobile app, and Podium; a social sharing site for racing data and videos with data sync! Your real driving and racing life can now be part of your digital online life, sending live updates to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, while still at the track, not hours or days later! Autosport Labs believes it's time to bring our racing and enthusiast communities into the 21st century.

With the RaceCapture & Podium system drivers can share and compare driving and racing experiences with friends by easily pairing a smartphone with RaceCapture's high-quality data. This compact device combines OBD-II data, high performance GPS, 6 axis accelerometer and gyro over a high speed WiFi link to the mobile app and Podium. From there, driving data is easily shared with friends and followers in real time for comparing lap times, driving line, acceleration, and engine sensors online.

Using the camera in their smartphones, drivers can capture video and synchronize it with RaceCapture's data and with connections to Facebook and Twitter, drivers can notify their friends when at a track, or when they've beaten their best lap times! Podium also includes tools to get feedback from friends about driving data to help improve on-track performance and join the track leaderboards. The whole system enables drivers to grow their skills by learning from and with friends (and maybe even from the pros) and to prove their performance at the track and after.

The campaign is looking to raise $50,000 by January 2nd and is almost halfway there. The team have put together a "stretch goal": if they raise $75,000, then they will add automatic and seamless control of GoPro, Sony, and Garmin cameras. No more wondering if you turned the camera on, no more after-event work of manually syncing your data to the video.

Fitness bikers and runners have had their communities with their FitBits and Strava, and now with RaceCapture & Podium, a system that just works, you can do the same with driving and on-track racing, with a community that just gets it. It's time!

RaceCapture & Podium make the perfect gift for the holidays for your favorite driving enthusiast. The pledge rewards will ship in the springtime. Share this campaign with other drivers and get the word out, because as with anything social, the more people playing, the more fun it is!

My Ride: E92 335i 6MT
Looks cool!

I see it says 2008+ requires no "legacy" module.

Whats different between my 2007 bmw 335i and say a 2008 bmw 335i, both cars USA spec.

I code my car with a k/ d-can cable all the time. I can see rpm and all the other data that this device supports on INPA...

Why would it be different?

Anthony
