2007 335i

I have 2007 335i and it smokes out the exhaust and it smells really rich.. Also when I get on it hard the "service engine soon" light comes on and the car starts doing a putter and power lags a lot. If I restart the car the light turns off and it goes back to normal. ( 95% of the time) Any suggestions? The car has some mods, chip, full exhaust and a tune. Any help or suggestion would be nice thanks!!

Mine had the same problem. Turns out it was misfiring cylinder 5 so I ran some fuel injector cleaner. Then changed the all the spark plugs (it was time anyways) and the coil for cylinder 5. Runs like a champ now. If you need brands or anything let me know.

What tune do you have? If its running rich the car probably just needs to be retuned. Its weird that the car goes back to normal if you turn it off and then back on though.

Could be a number of things; HPFP, injectors, etc., need to scan for codes to diagnose.

Jb4 and cobb have a feature.
You can record a pull from 2500 to redline.
Data recorded (Boost,afr,ignition,etc...) are very important for diagnosing a problem.

If you're getting a "Service Engine Soon" light on WOT you definitely have triggered codes.. what are you using to scan for codes?
