Question Is it OK to give out VIN number over email?
Hi,

I've been a proud BMW owner for 11 years and am currently looking for an '07, 328xI. I just posted my non-BMW car on Craigslist that we will be replacing and I just received an email from someone asking for the VIN number so they can check the car.

Is this OK to do or should I insist that he comes and take a look at the car first?

it's ok, unless you want to provide that person with the free carfax report for which you will have to pay. vin is not your ss# it's ok to post it with your ad.
