Porsche Carrera GT Crash Settled for $4.5

Carrera GT Crash Settled for $4.5m

The lawsuit was recently settled for a reported total of approximately $4.5 million. The contributions to the settlement were about 49% from the estate of the driver, 41% from the track owners and the event organizers, 8% from Porsche, and 2% from the driver of the Ferrari that was claimed to have triggered the crash.

I can't believe that a lawsuit had to be put up for this. Simply put, the driver was not very good and crashed, killing himself and the passenger. Nonetheless, his death is still a loss.

It is stated in that article that the driver spun out the car "3 to 4 times" during the event. And the blame is still placed solely on the track officials and the manufacturer, Porsche. One comment goes "the concerns of the mechanic were related to the oversteer, inherent to the design of the car". Umm, this car has one of the fastest lap times around the Nurburgring meaning the design of the car is quite good, making any crash likely driver error.

Also, I personally believe that this had more to do with money than anything else. The accusing side, the passenger's wife, goes on to sue only the companies with money such as the track owners, Porsche, Ferrari, and the driver's party.

Honestly, I think the lady who is suing is a complete b!tch for doing this and for taking half of the estates of the dead driver.
