Just purchased an 06 325i with 22k on the clock. first bmw but always been a fan. Getting use to the BMW drive feel. I have the steptronic transmission. I've driven nothing but Japanese makes and I'm not accustomed to the plastered-to-the-road feel of a BMW. The transmission is a bit less responsive than I envisioned at very low speeds (20-30 mph) and is seems like the car needs to be coached a bit more with the accelerator than with a Japanese make. Steering is a bit stiffer, but I've read that's normal for a BMW.
Any other little tib-bits about a BMW feel that I should be looking out for that are not prevalent in Japanese make?. Oh, tires,....Any sugestions on replacement tires?. Run flats are great but looking to replace them with traditional tires. 200-bucks run-flat replacements are not what I want to plan on. Great site!!! Last edited by lloydjr; 03-11-2010 at 07:04 PM. |

The new contis are great for that car. Hit tirerack and have a local install them. Stay away from the run flats. They are not worth the money taking into consideration the extra money you'll pay out for installation repair, and replacement.
