BMW...DISCOUNT?
If you could get a couple of grand I think that would be "in zone."
At least in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, everything is in such demand that most people pay sticker and are happy.
High valued Euros suck.

Agreed. A couple grand is about all you're gonna get...if that. I ordered mine from the factory. So, no discount for this guy. But, I'm still quite happy with my purchase.

I got 2,000 off sticker and was pretty pleased as there are virtually no coupes in the D/FW Metroplex.
The car that car closest to my configuration was in Barrington, Il which is 1,000 miles away.
Geeeeeeesh!

I've been to some dealerships that would just laugh at you if you used the work "discount" and "M3" in the same sentence. That is, unless that sentence also included the phrase "...does not have a..." I think at this point, we gotta be content to pay at or around sticker and not a dealer mark-up. At least the mark-ups have ended.

Yeah, I asked if they had any deals on financing or anything like that and it was just, "No, man, not on the M3. You're lucky that we aren't marking them up like other dealers in TX." I probably could've gotten one that was on the lot for a couple grand discount, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I'm not really all about paying over 70k for something that isn't exactly as I want it. There were 7 people in line behind me to get an allocation to one one built too. Good stuff.

It seems like the cars that the dealers are stocking are the ones that nobody wants. Yesterday I was at one dealership picking up some parts I ordered and there was a Melbourne Red E90 on the showfloor with all the options and 6MT. It had the bamboo beige leather and sycamore anthracite wood trim. I have yet to meet anyone that wants that combination. Most people that want an M3 want the carbon leather or brushed aluminum trim, and the black or fox red leather. It's not an odd combination, it's just something that most people get when ordering a 328i or a 535i. I think that they'll sell it or ship it to another dealership at some point, but it won't move too soon.
It just seems like all the really good, desirable and interesting combinations are all custom order only.

I guess we can't have it both ways...we complain about the high initial sticker prices but we LOVE the BMW brand equity when it come to resale residual value.
Long term value is always the correct decision.

Yeah, I have seen the same thing. My dealership has a few on the lot now. They have a red one that is gorgeous, but doesn't have CF roof, or the rear sunshade like I wanted. Other than that, it was perfect. They have a vert on the showroom floor though...very nice. I haven't seen one with the wood trim. I have no idea why anyone would get that in an M3. I'm curious how the sedans are selling..they seem to have a lot of those that aren't moving.

Yeah, that's not an M3 though. There are all kinds of deals on everything but an M3.
