Strange...any help?

If this has already been covered, please don't flame me. I did search, but to no avail.

Starting tonight, I noticed that my '07 335i/comfort/premium did not flash the lights when locking, either by touching the handle or with the fob. The lights still flash with unlocking, though. I checked through the iDrive menu, and both options are checked, and I haven't had this problem until tonight.

Also, my interior lights won't turn off after locking! For the past several months I've owned the car, after stepping out of it at night and locking it, the interior lights (dome light, etc) fade out after a few seconds. Tonight they won't turn off at all. If I manually turn them off before closing the door, then, say, lock or unlock the car with the fob or handle, the interior lights come on, of course, but never go off.

In short, I no longer get any light flashes when locking, and my interior lights don't automatically turn off. Anyone else ever run into this SNAFU?

I do need to make a dealer appointment this week for a warranty oil change, but I was hoping someone here could shed some light on this.

Thanks in advance!

Also, despite having read the manual and played with about every setting possible a few months ago, I still cannot figure out how to dim the interior (dash) lights. Is it even possible? Or is it all computer-controlled-ambient-light-variable-etc.?

Okay...try this, but write your radio setting down first:

Disconnect your battery for about 15 minutes. Just long enough for you to have a beer (or two if you drink fast) and reconnect.

It is the same principle as "re-booting" your computer.

It may not make a difference but then again it could.

Oh, have you called the dealer? You are probably still under warrenty.
