headlight parts for a e90 330i

My car was hit on the driver side headlight and it's in pieces. Went to the junk yard and was able to get the headlight with the zenon light bulb and I can still use the 3 chips from the old headlight. I had my father in law try to install it into the car and hes telling me theres a part in the back missing. I think it's a black part but it holds up the entire headlight and I think it connects to the bumper. I also think it connects to the back of the zenon light bulb.
Im trying to find pictures of everything around the headlight online but I cant find anything. Once I can get pictures he can tell me what he needs and I can order the part or parts through the dealer. Can someone help me?
