Active Autowerke tuner or DINAN???

Both say they give about the same results...but the DINAN is warranted with bmw.... but.... DINAN is 2000...AA is 800.... so if i got the AA i could spend 1200 on something else like exhaust...or should i even get exhaust? or get like an AA blowoff valve...tell me what yall think?

I think it depends on what you're capable and willing to spend, and what kind of payments you are making on your car. If your car is leased, then go with Dinan. Otherwise, if you own it or are financing, go with which ever one you like. I personally love Dinan, and Dinan's going to be doing some amazing stuff with their cars-especially the 335. That being said, stay within your budget.

I would say Dinan because it is warranty and isn't the Dinan more power? I thought it was but I could be wrong.

The best idea would be to somehow drive a car with both installed to see the differences. If you want added security though, the Dinan seems like a very logical choice. I need to make a similar decision here at some point. My thinking right now is leaning towards Dinan though...

Does GruppeM make an intake for the 335s? I have one on my 330i and absolutely love it. Sounds awesome!! If so where did you order it and how much was it? Thanks.

I would personally do the Active Autowerke Processor. We carry this upgrade and have been really happy with its performance so far. It is an affordable upgrade that offers more than the Dinan kit and is less restrictive in its parameters. It does maintain the stock safety limits so you do not risk engine malfunction or any adverse effects that can result from improper tuning.

Maybe so but is saving a few $100 worth voiding your warranty and having to foot the bill IF something does go wrong. I personally am going to go with Dinan for peace of mind. Just my .02.

Is Dinan coming out with stage 2 and an intercooler? What is going to be different compared to the current ECU upgrade offered by Dinan? Do our cars have an air intercooler or water intercooler from the factory? Thanks for the info.

Certainly a valid point but I can attest to the fact that Active Autowerke has been tuning BMWs since 1981 and given their level of experience and reputation, I would never hesitate to sell a customer one of their products. We are taking delivery of a 335 in June and one of the first things going on the car is the Processor by Active.

I agree they are certainly a reputable company and I'm sure they put out quality products. The price delta for me is worth it simply for my peace of mind. Let me know you impressions of the software once you install it on your 335. Take care.

Ill have to agree on the reliability of Active. My good friend had a Stage II SC E46 M3 and the car never missed a beat in the 30k plus miles he put on it before selling it. Im going with Active Processor very soon
