winter sensors

I was looking into getting some winters tires for my car. The guy at the tire place is telling me i dont need sensors for my run flats because he sees the rubber valves or something. I was under the impression i did need sensors can anyone help me out?

Are you just mounting tires on your existing rims or getting new rims as well?

Well, I did get a set of wheels and tires for my 335i last year and the TPMS sensors and the long valve stems for use with it. The sensors were the more expensive part...the valve stems were no where near as expensive. I am not so sure that guy knew what he was talking about...
