How to run wire from trunk to cabin

Hi Everyone. I have a wire i'm trying to get from the trunk to the rear deck. I have a 3 series with seats that do not fold down. Whats the easiest way to get it to the rear deck. Thanks.

btw. its a very thin small wire.

Try going up the C-pillar, there should be a few holes that you can run it up and pop out on the side of the deck, next to the rear deck, between the package tray and C-pillar.

whats the package tray?

Also How do i remove the rear deck from inside the car? I'm assuming I would need to do this to get access to those little pop outs to run the wire out.

I was also thinking of running it out of the speaker grill area. how do i get the speaker grill off?

The package tray is the shelf on the rear deck. It depends where you need the wire to run, but going through the speaker whole could result in an irritating vibration. The side cover in the trunk should come off very easily by removing the pop out clips, the deck cover, just be careful, but it should just unclip if you gently lift it.

Have you seen the inside trunk of the e90 sedan? It looks like the trunk is completely sealed off my metal. haha. I'm scared to go near the C Pillar because that is where airbags are located. Also I just looked in the trunk and there is no way to run anything up the side of the trunk into the cabin. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm... another option would be to find a whire loom in the trunk and follow it. Or, just drill a small hole in the corner of the rear deck, metal only, that way you will never see the hole from the top, just make sure to remove the package tray first, and put a grommet around the hole so you don't risk stripping the wire and shorting out. If you are nervous about doing it, you can probably ask a local car stereo shop and they should do it very inexpensively. Where are you located?

yo answer.

i had to run a wire back to the trunk compartment for wiring a remote switch.... i took out the back seats and there were some small holes at the top of the rear firewall - i just ran the cables through there and then i had someone looking in the trunk to see where they popped out and they had to like reach up through some holes in the roof of the trunk to get them.

the seats aren't hard to take out... the bottom part just pulls off a clip - and the part ur back goes on is bolted on by two bolts which are located on the left and right side of the car near the base of the seat. you must remove the bottom seat to see them... there is probably a picture on the internet of it. after the bolt comes out u slide the seat up and it pops off
