M3 Sedan pictures - 99% revealed!
I spy a sun roof on this as well. I'd love it if the coupe doesn't have the sun roof and you can only get it on the sedan.

No.....if you were to look closely, they have disguised the grille to make it look like the conventional sedan's

btw, it is not confirmed that the M3 sedan will make it stateside. in fact, i'll be surprised if it does--being that the e36 sedan failed terribly in the US market and bmw lost money on them...which is also why there wasn't a 4door e46 M3. I think the 4door e92 M3 will stay in Europe. The demand will be for the coupe--so I expect BMW will focus on producing them vs. a 4door.

I think you are right there Aaron. People who invest in an M3 want a no nonsence missile. The M3 coupe would carry forward the lighter body panels of the e92 coupe plus have a caron fibre roof. The sedan has neither. That and the 2 additional doors would add to the unsprung weight....also lets be honest here, the 3 series in e92 form does look more purposeful than its 4 door sibling.

I was under the impression that the m3 sedan sold more in the US than the coupe

The doors aren't unsprung weight. Also, aren't sedans usually lighter with a more rigid frame which gives better handling? I could be wrong here.

The E36 M3/4 sold so well that they developed the E90 M3 sedan specifically for the US market because of the previous demand and uproar about lack of an E46 M3 sedan. I read this from a BMW AG spokesman a couple months back.

The sedan did not sell more--and BMW had to lower the selling cost of the sedan M3 by offering dealers and therefore customers incentives to come buy them. It cost BMW money to bring the 4door E36 M3 to the US market. Which is why, i'll be surprised if they do it again...
Again, there is no official word from BMW AG or NA as to the E92 M3 sedan coming to the US market.

True, because the coupes don't have a true 'b' pillar, the sedans have a stiffer frame.

I for one would prefer the sedan to the coupe. I currently have a E46 coupe, and with two kids, the sedan would be more convenient.
I wonder if they will graft the couple like grills to the other sedans in a mid model change at some point. It looks much better IMHO. That will make for a really pretty 3 series sedan if they make the changes.

I fully agree. The grills on hood business never looked right to me. While I want them to change the sedan I can see BMW wanting to keep the sedan and coupe looking different.

Respectfully, you WILL be wrong...
M3 coupe, convertible AND sedan coming early ‘08 via a BMW contact of mine who confirmed the 335 a year to me before it came out.

if all three come out to the US in early 08, it will be the first time. BMW always introduces a coupe first, and then some months later (8 to 12) a convertible version will be released. Also an M model is usually released 12 months after the Euro debut...with the M's debut set for the end of this year in Europe...it's doubtful we'll see the M in the US in early 08.
It was no great feat finding out a year prior to the introduction of the 335i twin turbo. I knew about it's probable production about 18 months prior. Big deal...
That being said, if you read my post carefully, you'll note I didn't say the M3 sedan wasn't going to happen, just that I will be surprised if it does come to the US market--simply based on what happened the last time they "tried" to sell that car.
Whether your so-called 'source' says it will be here or not--I won't believe it until I see it on my inventory list. BTW, I'm a BMW contact as well...

This BMW contact is in corporate marketing...and I agree the timing is a bit curious...but there WILL be an E90 M3 sedan coming to the US sometime in 2008...bank on it.
