Rattle and hum?

Anybody having any buzzing or rattle issues with their new 335? I really hate hearing an intermittent buzz coming from the instrument panel area, or a slight rattle in the center console area when driving on a textured highway or going over bumps. Any ideas? Take it to the dealer? What do you do? Turn up the stereo?

That would drive me completely nuts. Sometimes what sounds like what would be inside the dash is actually in the engine bay or under the car near the firewall. That happened on my M3 and it ended up being a blown cat. Anyway, hope you find that rattle. My car is silent, solid as a rock. But it only has 600 miles on it. We'll see how well the quality holds up. Although, while parking the car today, it sounded like a "spring" snapped inside my driver's side seat. Hmmmm.... ?

I have the hum of electronics all the time. My drivers seat now squeaks which is annoying. Going to the dealer soon. Hopefully, a fuel pump will fail while it is there.

Speaking of rattling, my 335i is a 6MT, and there is a brief rattle sound that the engine or transmission makes when you shut the engine off. Anybody else notice this too?

It's not impresing me when I hear that sound about 4 out of 5 times. This is my 3rd new Bimmer (E36, E46, now E90) , but my first turbo-charged car that I've ever owned, so some things might possibly be normal for a car with turbos, i don't know.

One thing I am certain of is that this engine does not idle as buttery smooth as other BMWs I have owned or driven. Again, that could be a turbo thing. Can anybody confirm this??

I should check that out... will do that today. But I swear, it sounded like a clock spring breaking inside the seat... it was loud enough to make me jump. It was very weird. I checked the seat as best as I could and didn't find anything wrong or broken. But worth looking at it again.

My car does not idle well at all. Idles like a poorly tuned Mercedes. It's the first time out of any BMW I have owned that the idle seemed "out of tune"... My e46 M3, no matter how hard I drove the car, and with it's extremely complex design... had a flawless idle everyday, every time.
