There are six clips that hold each kidney grill on, 2 on the top, 2 on the bottom, 1 on each side. You have to slip your fingers in between the slats to access the clips. Press down on a clip to release it and then gently pull the grill out. You might have to get a screw driver to hold the grill in position as you work your way around to each clip, otherwise the clip might slip back into the locked position. Once you get one grill out, it's easy to see where the clips are located, which will make it easier to get the 2nd grill out. Be patient, don't force the grill. Once the clips are cleared, the grill should come out easily. I just replaced the chrome grills on my SG 330i with carbon fiber grills, and it looks awesome. It took me about 10 minutes to get both grills out. Good luck!

be careful when painting grilles, paint does not stick to chrome...

It will chip

Take a look at www.bimmian.com/GRL/90 and take a look at the last picture in the showcase there. THis is what happens after a few months if you paint chrome grilles..

Coincidentally , i was logging on to mention that we just dropped the price on our all-black grilles to $90, also available at the URL above.

Thanks
ian

Thumbs up Interested in painting your Grill?

If anyone is interested in body color matching your Grille Email brianjung@aol.com Ill do it for 50 bux. Were a Professional Custom Paint shop in so cal. ill post pics when i get the chance. It was ppg paint and we used the color codes to match the car. Ive done it on a couple already through personal reference and they all love it. It can be done on stock chrome but i bought mine off ebay and got it done and either way it comes out nice. Brianjung@aol.com
