Unhappy Brand New 2007 335i...They have to replace Brain?

Placed an order for 2007 335i...11 weeks later it shows up. Came in last Wednesday, there is an issue with door locks/remote. They tell me today, a week later that they have to replace the brain. One is being sent overnight FedEx from Germany.

I gave them the check last week for the car. Tags have been ordered.

I am frustrated, disappointed, and somewhat frightened that they have to already replace my ECU brain.

What should I do? Please advise...

this is why you have a warrenty...because this car, like very other, is a very complicated MAN made machine that is prone to break at times. Although your situation is unfortunate it could be worse...your civic could have broken down

well... its not that bad... they found it right away... so its sorta like preventive maintanance... nothing to advise... car will be newer than the day it arrived... it'll be better

chances are you wont ever have to go back into service for years unless your getting scheduled maintanance...

I can see why it would be unsettling but it sounds like the dealership is taking care of you. I'd start to be worried if they weren't doing you right, but for now rest easy knowing that they are on top of the situation.

Same thing happened to me, within a week of owning the car. It took ten days for the dealership to get the parts and fix it. All fine now, but frustrating on an expensive new car.
