Why do the new 3 series look so much alike?

I love the 335i and planning to get one at the end of 2007 or early 2008. I am hoping that BMW will differentiate the 328s and 335s more in the future. Besides the obvious dual exhaust, the 328s, 330s and 335s look so much alike. Does anyone know if different wheels are available? Different bumpers? etc...Thanks.

It's always been the case. the e36 and e46 cars were little differentiated, other than the wheels. no news here.

Wait for the m-tech bumpers, etc

It just seems that there are more distinctions between the e46 330 and the e46 325, than there are between the e90 325,328,330, and 335. I mean, the 330i e46 mtech front and rear bumpers are very distinguishable features of that car. I just hope that when I get the 335 at the end of this year, or early next year, that BMW will have a new body kit and/or wheels for the 335.

Yeah, I am sure M3 owners didn't take the look of the car into consideration when they bought it. Are you serious? Not sure what you are talking about. The 335 is definitely not the same car as the 325/328. That's almost the same as saying the ZHP coupe is the same car as the M3. And, what's wrong with wanting to look different. Fanatics on this board mod their cars to be somewhat different/unique.

Half the people on this and any other board have no clue about performance mods or performance driving. They don't even have a clue as to what all those carbon fiber pieces are really for. I'd say take a stock car to a BMW-CCA driving school, and run it against some of the pro drivers in their old E30's and E36's, then start modding.
