Any idea if BMWNA will offer 330xi wagon?

I know there has been much conjecture, wishing and prognastication on said subject, but has anyone heard anything material? We know that the e91 330xi and e91 335i is available in Europe. BMWNA has always brought in the smaller engine option, I guess just to have the lowest price point available. Please don't make me get an A4 Avant; I will settle for 330xi. Please give us a sport wagon that is most worthy of the badge. Please stop feeding us the bottom of the barrel "options". The sport wagon market is on the rise; many of us are ditching our SUV's for this segment, don't blow it.

BMW normally does the same thing over and over again. They haven't offered an AWD wagon before and I doubt they will. I think it would take away from X3/X5 sales also.

Over the past several years, BMW has only had 2 (non-deisel) engine options for any worldwide version of the 3 series wagon. In every case, BMWNA has only brought in the smaller engine version into the US (e.g. 325 vs. 328, 328 vs. 330, etc). Now they have 3 versions worldwide; 328, 330 and 335. They currently offer x-drive on the 328 and 330 and it was available on the 325.

The big question is that now, with the 328/330/335 options, will they bring in the 330i/xi into the US as MY 2008? Or will they continue to ignore the market movements into this category and only offer the 328i/xi. Look at what Audi, MB and others are doing with their sport wagon offerings in the US. They are ramping up and offering more than ever. They recognize the shift from SUV's to sport wagons and are positioning themselves accordingly. BMW needs to do the same. The X3 and X5 are not even a consideration for me.
