My 2 Cents

Here is some advice. I've had 2 335i machines and several friends whom also share my enthusiasm. The answer to this question depends on if & what you plan to do to the engine and ECU after you make this purchase. There have been several software upgrades since the early 07's. Quite honestly, the asthetic appeal has improved as the years have passed (body styling, shadowline trim, interior color combos, the iDrive update in 09, and the car also grew 2 inches making it look more like a 5 series once you add some rims.). BUT the ability to tune these motors has only become more challenging and annoying as the years have passed. My best advice is to price a similar machine with the options you want at an auction and that is a good ballpark estimate of what you will spend. Certainly have the car CPO by BMW (which means you'll spend an additional $2,400 compared to a car that sells at auction that isn't CPO) or you'll be more than sorry. People do STUPID s**t to their 335s, void the warranty, and try & sell the car outright.

Want an M3? Only if you want to be passed by a 335i that has been properly tuned! That kinda fun will cost you an additional $20K, and for that kina money, I want to win on the line, not lose! Hope this helps.
