Hey guys, I've got an e92 335i coupe and I've tried looking on the e90post.com website for answers, but nobody there seems to have an answer... maybe you guys could help me out...
About 2 weeks ago I had front and rear UUC sway bars installed and the car rode perfectly. Then this past weekend I just installed some KWv2 coilovers and dropped my ride by about an inch. Ever since then, there has been this loud creaking noise coming from the front suspension.
I jacked the car back up and took a look and it appears that the creaking noise is the sound of my front UUC sway bar rubbing against the AC joint on both passenger and driver sides. After seeing this, I attempted to shorten the endlinks, but I soon found that the endlinks were already shortened to their max!! AND, even at their shortest, they are exactly the same length as my stock end links. For a lowered car, the endlinks need to get SHORTER, no?
In my mind, there are 3 potential causes for the front UUC sway bar not being able to clear the AC Joint:
1) The say bar was installed incorrectly (but it was installed at the BMW dealership, so that is unlikely)
2) The end links are too long--they are stock length at shortest (but Mike at UUC says he's sold 100's of these sway bars and nobody has ever had a problem)
3) I've simply dropped the car TOO low (but I've only lowered it 1", and the coilovers are capable of a 2" drop!! There should be plenty of space).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
