Hi guys:
I recently brought a 2006 330i CPO from a NY based bmw dealership. I got a great deal on it and the car runs and smells great and I got no major complaints so far.
However there are some minor features I wish I had but I don't:
The door locks dose not autolock after the car is running more than 5mile/hr.
The alarm indicator under the center rear-view mirror dose not blink when the door is locked.
My cousin drives a 2004 330 convertible and he told me all these features are programmable and can be turned on through dealership.
So I went to the dealership where I brought the car from and ask them to reprogram my car. firstly the guy who took me in told me right out in the front that in order for that indicator to blink, I have to have the alarm system installed which is 500 dollars parts + labor. for the door lock he said he'll just ask the tech to reprogram it. So I was like fine, just fix the lock then. But 4 hours later when I went to pick up the car the invoice said early production E90 dose not have this auto roll lock feature on the door(which I found hard to believe since my cousin's 2004 has it), so basically I booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance and wasted an entire morning for nothing.
I hope I'm wrong but I had this gut feeling that the dealership simply don't want to bother with such minor no profit fixes that comes in to the dealership so they just lied to me about my concerns and didn't do what they suppose to do.
Hope I can get some clarifications here, so if my suspicion is correct then I'll have something to say when the bmw service rep calls me about the repair experience, thanks!
